Having anxiety is a natural, human experience. If you are excited, you might feel butterflies, flushed, and a slight racing of your heart, much like anxiety symptoms. These are healthy, temporary cues of something noteworthy happening in the future. However, when this state is prolonged, it may feel like being on a hamster wheel you can’t exit, accompanied by bothersome thoughts, and may even include physical distress. These symptoms are often in response to worry, doubt, and fear. Trying to ignore your internal alarm system is often ineffective and exhausting. Learning how to manage anxiety triggers, by regulating your nervous system using mindfulness and other coping strategies, supports an equilibrium of being, rather than getting stuck in overwhelm.

Let’s contemplate running a race; having a high level of anticipation at the starting line is a good thing, as is having the ability to tap into a last-minute adrenaline rush as one approaches the finish line. However, if there is a chronic state of anxiety, expectation, or apprehension, it can manifest in the body, like panic attacks and an uneasy mind. We want to be able to feel a full range of emotional and physical states, the highs and lows necessary to be resilient. Our work together will help you grow this capacity as well as determine when your nervous system is giving you false, disruptive cues that impact your inner world and external life.

Together we can explore the best means of managing your anxiety, to restore your mental and emotional well-being.
